It’s hard to really understand a group of people based solely on a website. We’d love to have you visit with us if you are in the area. Until then, here are some things you might find beneficial:

What Can I Expect if I Visit?

We are a small congregation in Portland TN. We are real, we are honest, and we try to live grace-filled lives to the glory of God. So, come as you are (because we do)! We really have no dress code- some people wear jeans, some wear dresses, and some wear shorts. We care far more about your heart than what you wear.

Our song service is usually a simple acoustic guitar – we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (cf. Col 3:16). Our music choices are determined more by the content than the style. Our service is somewhat liturgical including a call to worship, OT and NT readings, prayer of confession, a sermon, a doxology, and a benediction. That said, we avoid “dry orthodoxy” by insisting that theology properly understood leads us to a place of genuine worship and praise.

So, we are a blend of the liturgical and the laid-back country mindset of our community. We are reverent, yet genuine; Holy, but honest; Sinners and saints living in covenant fellowship.

We are family integrated meaning we don’t offer children’s church during the service. Families worship together. That said, the nursery is always available for children under 5 should you need to utilize it.

**Let us know if you have any questions! Again, we would love to have you visit with us and we sincerely hope that you feel welcomed and loved.
